Board and Brew

Now continuing my recommendations for good quality restaurants that are affordable for college students takes us to the sandwich place of Board and Brew. Board and Brew were originally started in San Clemente but now has expanded throughout Southern California. It is called Board and Brew because all the tables are surfboards and they also sell beer, which is pretty unique for a sandwich restaurant. All ingredients that are used are produced on local farms that are organic and hormone-free.

Their menu has a very good selection for any type of sandwich you might want to eat. They have grilled sandwiches, club sandwiches, Italian deli sandwiches, and specialty salads. I have eaten many different items off their menu, and I have never been disappointed with my decision, that is how good this place is. My go to sandwich is the chicken club. It comes with a grilled chicken breast, bacon, and any melted cheese you want, along with lettuce, tomato, and mayo, all on a french baguette. With the first bite, you get an explosion of flavors. The saltiness from the bacon, the spiciness from the pepper jack cheese, and the marinated chicken are very tasty together. Every sandwich you order comes with a side of their special sauce. The sauce completes any sandwich you order. It is tasty with anything you order off the menu. It is a creamy sauce that is sweet. Board and Brew is the only restaurant that has this sauce, and they keep the ingredients in it as a secret so no one will steal it.

The atmosphere at Board and Brew is typically very energetic and happy. If you live in San Clemente, you are pretty much guaranteed to see someone you know either working or eating. It is a nice restaurant to hang out at because of the outdoor seating and the community it gathers.
