LaRocco’s Pizza is one of the most popular pizza spots in town. Their slogan is “A slice of New York.” They follow their slogan by making very big, thin-crust pizzas. LaRocco’s Pizzeria hand makes their dough, red sauce, and a white sauce. They have an extremely big selection of pizzas, of thirty-seven different options. You can either buy a full pizza pie, or you can buy individual slices. It is a very small restaurant with little seating options, so I usually take it to go. However, it is interesting because you can see the workers making pizza pies. They do the typical tricks of throwing the dough in the air and spinning it on their fingers. For every eight pies that you buy you get one free pizza pie.
The pizza is very authentic New York style pizza. My favorite pizza is the meat lovers. It comes with pepperoni, sausage, and meatballs. It is a very classic pizza that you can never go wrong with. My second favorite is The Rockefeller pizza, it comes with pepperoni, ham, pineapple, feta cheese, and fresh jalapeños, that is all on top of a light white sauce. This is one of their most popular pizzas because of the sweetness of the fruit, the saltiness from the meat, and the spiciness from the jalapeño. Because there are so many pizza options, I have not tried them all. Another customer favorite is the barbeque chicken pizza. This one explains itself. It has a unique type of barbeque sauce, however. They use a sauce that gets shipped from New York, where the owner is from.
One of the best things about LaRocco’s Pizza is walking into the restaurant. As soon as you open the door you are met with a warm vent of air and a very rich smell of pizza. You will breathe in the odors of the homemade sauce and melting cheese. Everything cooking together in the oven provides an unforgettable scent that will make you extremely hungry.
